The Digital Portrait

This is my daughter in front of her window with the blinds down and light coming through while open.

Another photo of my daughter this time in a different window. Felt bad for her as she was feeling under the weather but she was a big trooper helping me out by posing for me.

This time she took another pose. I get the feeling she was thinking about wanting to go outside sled riding.

This one compared to the first photo has a little softer lighting and the blind was up.

Here she looks like she is deep in thought.

Brother and sister staring out the window. I thought the light was too much on my daughter so I tried to soften that up on the next photo. (Before)

This was after I tried to adjust with the Photoshop. Not sure if I edited the photo right but I gave it my best shot. (After)

My son taking a pose by the window.

Short reaction on the NPR Alfred Sieglitz and Georgia O'Keefe story was that both of these people had a passion for art. Both whom lived so far apart and had a big difference in age.  The passion for each other drew them together in marriage but surprisingly later as they grew older they became apart.

  1. Wonderful series, Dan... making quiet, thoughtful pictures of your children under such great light is indeed special. Using RAW mode to shoot is one of the best way to control the hot highlights as you can dial back exposure and contrast after the fact. Thanks for the response to the Stieglitz/O'Keefe piece....
