It's very tough to get the light effect I am looking for outdoors in the snow... there is a ton of light coming from every direction. The goal was to use diffused, directional light from a window in order to control the direction of the light onto the face. Take a look at Aura's solution... she understood the main point. Doing a "controlled candid" like she did leads to much more powerful work and helps avoid the snapshot look.

ReplyDeleteYes, The photos outside were taken in a really nice soft purple/pink light at dusk, this didnt come across in the photos. I will try again
