This first shot was taken of bubbles on a black table that I blew using a straw and vapor to create an interesting frosted appearance. |
For this shot of the strawberry I was trying to capture the pattern of the seeds and the intricate way they conform to the overall shape.
This shot was taken of my boyfriend's eye while he was looking into a fireplace. I liked how you can see the fire in his eye.
I took this shot of some extremely small spools of thread trying to capture the detail.
The weather has been really hard to work around lately, but I was able to take this last shot of an ice hanging by a stream in the park where I walk my dog.
Another excellent series! I am struck by the backgrounds you chose... did you put colored paper under a sheet of glass? The complimentary colors are striking. You have a great sense of how the object being photographed becomes more than a mere description of it... you use the visual qualities of the object to make it sing.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of camera are you using?
Notice in the ice shot that the camera makes snow and ice gray... the thing to do is to boost the levels in Photoshop to make it sparkle more...
Super.
Thanks, I actually printed out my backgrounds on photo paper to give then a glossy sheen. My Camera is a Nikon D3300. I agree that the shot of the icicles is very gray. I noticed that the icicles in your shot seem more vibrant, did you use flash or is it just the manual adjustments? I have played around with shutter speed and I found that when I used 1/600th the shots come out dark. My camera is set to ISO 100, would raising that compensate for the light?
